Kendji Girac, whose real name is Kendji Girac Amédé, is a young French singer born on June 26, 1996 in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. He was revealed to the general public in 2014 thanks to his participation in the third season of The Voice, a French television show in which he was crowned winner. Kendji Girac grew up in a family of Spanish origin. His mother is of Gypsy origin and his father is of Spanish origin. He began singing at a very young age, first by imitating the singers he loved, then by composing his own songs. It was at the age of 16 that he decided to take singing and guitar lessons. In 2014, Kendji Girac participated in the third season of The Voice. He joined Jenifer's coach team and finished first in this season. He released his first album, titled Kendji, in 2014. The album sold more than 500,000 copies and Kendji Girac was crowned best male artist at the Victoires de la musique in 2015. In 2016, Kendji Girac released his second album, entitled Ensemble. The album sold more than 800,000 copies and Kendji Girac was again crowned best male artist at the Victoires de la musique in 2017. Kendji Girac released his third album, titled Amigo, in 2018. The album sold more than 1 million copies and Kendji Girac was again crowned best male artist at the Victoires de la musique in 2019.
