Alyssa Reid is a Canadian singer-songwriter, born on March 16, 1993, in Edmonton, Alberta. She grew up in Spruce Grove, a suburb of Edmonton. Her mother is a former country singer who performed in honky tonk clubs in the 1980s, and her father is a former ice hockey player who played for the Edmonton Oilers. Alyssa started singing and playing the guitar at the age of eight. In 2008, she made her professional debut by performing in folk and country clubs in Edmonton. In 2009, she released her first album, "The Way We Are," produced by her father. The album received positive reviews and was nominated for a Juno Award. In 2010, Alyssa signed with the Hollywood label Wax Records. Her single "Alone Again" was a huge success in Canada, reaching the top of the country song sales chart. Her self-titled first album was released in March 2011 and peaked at number two on the country album chart. In 2012, Alyssa released her second album, "Time Bomb," which was also a success in Canada, reaching the top of the country album sales chart.
