Tiësto, whose real name is Tijs Verwest, is a Dutch DJ and music producer. He is regarded as one of the world's best DJs and has been ranked number one on DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs list four times. Tiësto began his musical career in the 1980s by playing in gabber clubs in the Netherlands. In 1994, he released his first album, Magik, and quickly gained popularity among trance fans. In 2002, he released his album In Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza, which catapulted him to international stardom. Since then, he has released several albums and collaborated with numerous artists, including Coldplay, Katy Perry, and Kanye West. In 2013, Tiësto was named ambassador of the city of Amsterdam. He has also been named a Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau, the highest civilian honor in the Netherlands.
