Tiesto, whose real name is Tijs Verwest, is a Dutch DJ and music producer. He is considered one of the best DJs in the world and is a pioneer of trance music. Tiesto started his career playing in clubs in Rotterdam in the 1980s, and quickly became known for his long DJing sessions. In 1994, he released his first compilation, Magik, and in 1997, he released his first studio album, In Search of Sunrise. Tiesto then began collaborating with artists like Armin van Buuren and Ferry Corsten, and in 2001, he released the album Magik Seven: Live in Amsterdam. In 2002, Tiesto was named "Best DJ in the World" by DJ Magazine, and in 2003, he released his studio album, Elements of Life. Tiesto continued releasing albums and performing in clubs and festivals around the world, and in 2013, he was named "DJ of the Year" by DJ Magazine.
