Spandau Ballet is a British music group formed at the end of the 1970s, particularly known for its important role in the New Romantic movement. Originating from London, the group is composed of key members such as lead singer Tony Hadley, the Kemp brothers Gary and Martin, Steve Norman, and John Keeble. The group emerged on the music scene with influential nights at the Blitz club in London, where the New Romantic culture was coming to life, characterized by a flamboyant style and a forward-thinking approach to music. Their music combines elements of pop, funk, and rock, with a strong emphasis on synthesizers and dramatic melodies. Spandau Ballet experienced great success in the 1980s with hits like "True," which became an international success, and "Gold." These songs are representative of their synth-pop sound and have marked a generation. The "True" album is particularly famous, reflecting the sophisticated aesthetics and romance of the time. After internal tensions and career changes, the group disbanded in the 1990s before reforming in 2009 for a world tour and the release of new materials.
