Maxwell is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, and actor. He is known for contributing to the shaping of the neo-soul sound. His critically acclaimed album "Urban Hang Suite" (1996) was nominated for a Grammy Award and reached platinum status in the United States. His following album "Embrya" (1998) was also nominated for a Grammy Award. Other albums include "Now" (2001), "BLACKsummers'night" (2009), and "blackSUMMERS'night" (2016).
